Taiwan Stocks Rise Amid Better Sentiment

0352 GMT - Taiwan stocks rise amid better investor sentiment with the benchmark Taiex index up 2.6% at 49722.29. TSMC is up 2.8%, MediaTek gains 2.5% and Delta Electronics is 5.8% higher. Investor sentiment got a lift after chances of a Fed interest rate hike this month eased following a weaker-than-expected jobs report in September. High U.S. Treasury yields has put global equities under pressure. Taiwan's AI-related stocks are particularly sensitive as higher yields increase borrowing costs and intensify scrutiny on the capital-intensive AI infrastructure buildout. Investors are also digesting the prospects for TSMC after Elon Musk said he is discussing a potential collaboration for his Terafab semiconductor project.
