Micron Technology's (MU) strategic customer agreements provide "meaningful" downside protection even if some customers miss honoring their commitments, RBC Capital Markets said in a Wednesday note.
The company's strategic customer agreements rose to 26 from 16 in the prior quarter with remaining performance obligation recorded at about $150 billion, which the company stated will account for over 35% of its total revenue through 2030, according to the note. The increase in strategic customer agreements point to customer confidence in demand sustainability in the sector, RBC analysts said.
Micron's floor pricing agreements are being not fully valued by the market, and there is room for "sizeable" multiple expansion even if its strategic customer agreements are only partially effective, the analysts said.
The company's recent financial results and guidance were slightly ahead of RBC's expectations. Micron posted fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings of $33.42 per diluted share and revenue of $54.23 billion, compared with the consensus of $31.72 per share on revenue of $51.33 billion. Fiscal Q1 guidance was $38.15 per share on revenue of $61.5 billion surpassed consensus of $35.47 per share on revenue of $57.4 billion.
RBC reiterated the company's stock rating at outperform and price target at $1,500.
