Top cryptocurrencies fell Friday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) lower but holding above the $84,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 1.2% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 1%, the S&P 500 added 0.8%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.5%.
Bitcoin fell 0.5% to $84,177, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 35.6% to $45.29 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 1.1% to $2,665.
XRP (XRP-USD) declined 1.6%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 0.3%, and Solana (SOL-USD) eased 0.2%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dropped 3.5%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) lost 3.3%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 0.6% in the past 24 hours to $2.86 trillion, with trading volume rising 25.6% to $117.43 billion.
