Commonwealth Bank of Australia Extends Regional Branch Closure Moratorium Through 2030

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) is set to keep all of its regional bank branches open until at least December 2030, extending a commitment the company first made in February 2023, according to a Thursday statement.

The bank will invest AU$140 million in fiscal 2027 to upgrade its branch network with a focus on more responsive and personal service, as well as convenient access to specialist support, it said.

Commonwealth Bank operates a network of 281 regional locations.

Its shares fell 1% in recent Thursday trade.
