Amazon.com (AMZN), Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google, Meta Platforms (META) and Oracle (ORCL) are being pressed by a Democratic lawmaker for more information on secret communications with local officials regarding data center construction, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing letters it reviewed.

Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin sent letters Tuesday seeking information on any nondisclosure agreements the companies signed with government officials over data center constructions, the report said.

Another lawmaker has proposed a law limiting nondisclosure agreements with government officials in connection to data-center projects, the report said.

Amazon, Google, Meta, and Oracle did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
