Toyota Motor (TYO:7203) posted its seventh consecutive drop in worldwide monthly sales in August, with group-wide volume falling 7.5% year over year to 832,618 vehicles, according to company data released Tuesday.
The Japanese automaker's China sales plunged about 22.8%, while Middle East deliveries tumbled over 37.5%.
Exports fell 0.6% to 138,064 vehicles, while electrified vehicle sales remained strong, up 13.7% to 435,602 units.
Global production declined 7.4% to 776,393 vehicles, driven by a 7.3% drop in overseas production.
The company's cumulative seven-month global sales stood at 7.2 million, down 1.3% from the same period last year.
