Market Chatter: KKR Sells Japan Marriott Hotels to Singapore's GIC for $796.7 Million

KKR (KKR) has sold 16 Marriott International (MAR) hotels in Japan to Singapore's GIC sovereign wealth fund for 125 billion Japanese yen ($796.7 million), Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Under the deal, GIC is taking over the mid-range Four Points Flex by Sheraton chain in Japan, a mid-priced hotel chain operating in 11 Japanese cities including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka, the report said.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

KKR, GIC, and Marriott did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
