AbbVie Says Mid-Stage Study of Atopic Dermatitis Treatment Meets Primary Goal

AbbVie's (ABBV) phase 2 dose-finding study of zumilokibart in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis met its primary endpoint, with all three dose regimens achieving "significantly" higher response rates at week 16, compared with placebo, the company said Wednesday.
The mid-dose regimen has been selected for phase 3 development.
The findings support further evaluation of the drug's efficacy, safety and extended dosing intervals as a potential long-term treatment option, AbbVie said.
Atopic dermatitis is a condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin.
