Neuren Says US Patent Allowance Could Extend Trofinetide Protection to 2041

Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX:NEU) said partner Acadia Pharmaceuticals received a notice of allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a new US patent covering weight-banded dosing of trofinetide, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The patent, once issued and with six months of pediatric exclusivity, is expected to extend US patent protection for trofinetide to March 28, 2041, nearly five years beyond the current protection period, the filing said.
Trofinetide is marketed in the US under the brand names Daybue and Daybue Stix for patients aged two years and older with Rett syndrome, the filing added.
The company's shares rose 2% in recent Tuesday trade.
