Italy Progresses Toward Completing Annual Bond Funding Program

The Italian treasury will have completed 83% of its annual bond funding target by the end of September, up from 75% at the end of August, it said Monday.

At the end of August, a total nominal amount of around 261.8 billion euros ($298.20 billion) of medium- and long-term bonds had been issued, the treasury said.

The treasury's medium- and long-term government bond issuance will amount to 64.4 billion euros between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, the treasury said.

The average cost at issuance at the end of August 2026 was 2.94%, up from an average of 2.75% in 2025, it said.
