Australia's Monthly Total Credit Rises in August

Australia's total credit rose 0.6% month on month in August, matching the increase recorded in July, data from the Reserve Bank of Australia showed Wednesday.

Housing credit grew by 0.4%, compared with a 0.5% increase in the previous month, while personal credit growth accelerated to 0.7% from 0.5%.

Business credit rose by 0.9% after rising 1% in the previous month, while broad money grew 0.1%, following a 0.3% increase a month earlier.

Total credit jumped 8.4% in the year ended August, compared with the 7.2% increase in the year ended August 2025.
