Bursa Malaysia Snaps Five-Day Slump as Bargain Hunters Step In

Bursa Malaysia snapped a five-day losing streak on Wednesday, as the benchmark FBM KLCI climbed 0.4% or 7.21 points to finish at 1,651.17.

Malaysia's broad money supply (M3) grew 5% year‑over‑year to RM2.637 trillion in August, slowing from 5.7% in July, Bank Negara Malaysia data showed.

In corporate news, shares of Powerwell (KLSE:PWRWELL) rose over 3% on close, as its subsidiary Powerwell International collaborated with Socomec Innovative Solution (Malaysia) for opportunities within the large data center and hyperscale segment in Malaysia.

Malaysian shares of dual-listed semiconductor equipment manufacturer UMS Integration (SGX:558, KLSE:UMSINT) rose 3% on close, as it signed a placement agreement with CGS International Securities Malaysia and AmInvestment Bank for the placement of up to 52.9 million shares.
