Chordia Therapeutics (TYO:190A) has won a grant of up to 1.5 billion yen to support a Phase I/II study of rogocekib in patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (HMS).
The grant, under Japan's fiscal 2026 medical innovation program, will cover up to one-half of eligible project expenses, from Oct. 1, 2026 through Nov. 30, 2029, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
The funding is expected to further accelerate the development of rogocekib, an orally available small-molecule CLK inhibitor that has shown potential efficacy in relapsed or refractory AML and HMS patients.
CLK stands for CDC-like kinase, a family of enzymes that play a key role in regulating RNA splicing.
