DoorDash Launches Drone Delivery Service for Businesses in Northern California

DoorDash (DASH) said Wednesday that it has launched a custom autonomous aircraft and drone system for local business deliveries.
Initial pilot deliveries will begin in Northern California in partnership with restaurant brands including Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, the company said.
The aircraft was designed using historical order data on package weight and distance to handle normal restaurant orders, and will coordinate flight routing, weather conditions, and kitchen preparation times in real time, DoorDash said.
