DoorDash (DASH) on Wednesday launched new artificial intelligence-powered ordering tools for consumers and businesses, including a service that lets users place orders by text.

The text-based service allows US users to search for food and groceries, build carts and complete orders without opening the DoorDash app. The service is being offered in beta, with users able to join a waitlist to try it.

DoorDash also introduced a connector that allows companies to link compatible AI tools and agents for corporate ordering. The connector can be integrated with workplace tools such as Slack, allowing employees to submit group lunch requests and automate ordering and delivery, the company said.

Separately, DoorDash launched DashOS, a platform connecting its Marketplace, direct ordering, reservations, loyalty, guest management and marketing products for restaurants.

The company said it plans to expand integrations with point-of-sale and middleware providers, with more than 80,000 restaurants expected to gain access to additional SevenRooms customer engagement tools beginning in 2027.

DoorDash shares were 1% lower in early Wednesday trading.
