Vodafone Group (VOD) and France's Societe Generale have received the European Commission's approval for their proposed acquisition of a joint control of OXG Glasfaser Beteiligungs, a German fiber-optic infrastructure firm, the commission said Monday.

The transaction pertains mainly to fiber-to-the-home access infrastructure.

The deal is not expected to raise competition concerns given that the companies are not active in the same or vertically related markets, the European Commission said.
