Japan Hotel REIT's Hotel Revenue Declines 6.9% in August

Japan Hotel REIT Investment (TYO:8985) said its 29 hotels generated total revenue of 7.42 billion yen in August, down 6.9% from a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.

Hotel occupancy slipped 0.2% in August to 84.1%.

The average daily rate fell 8.8% to 23,337 yen, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) dropped 8.9% to 19,616 yen.

The REIT expects RevPAR in September to surpass last year's comparable figure.
