Commonwealth Bank of Australia to Cut 172 Jobs by Year-End, Says Finance Sector Union

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) will cut 172 jobs by the end of the year from its Technology segment in New South Wales and redeploy 60 employees as part of its restructure, said the Finance Sector Union in a Wednesday statement.
CBA, in response to MT Newswires' request for comment, said that its AU$90 million Future Workforce Program helps impacted staff, "where possible," transition into new roles within CBA.
The bank's shares fell 1% in recent trade.
