Stocks in Singapore rose Thursday, as the FTSE Straits Times Index added 0.45% to 5660.52.
Among local companies with a market cap of at least 1 billion Singapore dollars ($783.7 million), Bumitama Agri was the biggest leader during the session, surging 5.8%, and HPH Trust USD surged 2.44%. Pan-United rounded out the top three movers, as shares rose 1.8%.
Centurion Accommodation was the biggest laggard, falling 2.7%, followed by shares of Olam Group, which fell 1.9%. Shares of Thomson Medical Group dropped 1.9%.
On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index fell 0.1% to 96.04. The U.S. dollar weakened 0.2% against the Singapore dollar to S$1.28.
In the bond markets, the 10-year Singaporean government bond yield fell 0.6 basis point to 2.510%.
