On September 24, the 4,000-mu fresh corn base of Tianzhuanshun Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Cooperative in Yong'an Town, Tuquan County, Hinggan League, welcomed its harvest, with fields bustling with activity. Farmers seized the clear weather to harvest corn, transport vehicles shuttled back and forth, continuously delivering fresh cobs to processing workshops, making every effort to ensure a bountiful harvest and that every kernel is stored safely.
Yong'an Town leveraged its local agricultural advantages to strengthen the distinctive sweet and waxy fresh corn industry, extending and reinforcing the industrial chain, building an integrated industrial system covering planting, processing, and sales, and driving industrial quality and efficiency improvements. In 2026, the cooperative planted a total of 4,000 mu of fresh corn. White corn, variegated corn, and yellow corn have all been harvested, with a total output of approximately 5 million cobs; currently black corn is entering its peak harvest season, with an estimated output of up to 4 million cobs.

After undergoing manual selection, peeling and impurity removal, ear cutting and washing, vacuum packaging, and high-temperature steaming, the corn completes its transformation from a field crop to a commodity, achieving direct-from-field harvesting and freshness-locked delivery to the market.
The cooperative adopts a "cooperative + base + farmers + orders" model to develop the fresh corn industry at scale. During peak production season, it absorbs surplus rural labor for nearby employment, with annual labor expenditure reaching 3 million yuan. The workshop can process corn raw materials from 50 mu of land per day, with an estimated output value of 16 million yuan this year. Products are sold to cities such as Beijing and Shanghai.
Small corn supports a big industry, paving the way for people to increase their incomes. In recent years, Tuquan County has continued to expand its distinctive fresh corn industry, integrating field and courtyard economy resources, and building a full industrial chain that combines standardized planting, freshness-locked processing, cold-chain storage, and online and offline sales. Currently, the county has built standardized fresh corn bases totaling 4,652 mu, with an annual production capacity of 18.6 million cobs, having cumulatively driven over a thousand people into employment, with per capita annual income increasing by 6,000 yuan, injecting strong industrial momentum into rural revitalization.
