Insilico Medicine (03696) announced that, driven by its proprietary generative AI platform, the company has nominated ISM1354, a potential best-in-class, new-generation small-molecule glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) antagonist, as a preclinical candidate compound (PCC), with potential for intervention in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and related diseases, and with the prospect of expanding into the cardiovascular disease field.
In January of this year, the company announced the nomination of another GIPR antagonist, ISM0676, which achieved up to 31.3% weight loss when combined with semaglutide in a humanized mouse model.
By comparison, the newly nominated PCC not only maintains favorable drug-like properties but also achieves multidimensional optimization in pharmacokinetics (PK), safety profile, and other aspects.
To date, Insilico Medicine has announced the nomination of 10 PCCs within the first nine months of 2026, setting a new company record for annual pipeline output and pushing the total number of PCCs nominated since 2021 to 34, thereby validating generative AI R&D efficiency through reproducible real-world cases.
