Olam Group Limited announced on Sep, 24 2026 that its wholly owned operating business, olam food ingredients (ofi), has secured approximately 410 million Singapore dollars through the issuance of perpetual hybrid capital instruments, marking its first hybrid capital transaction and the food-and-beverage sector’s first syndicated bank-funded hybrid deal.

The securities were issued by ofi Treasury B.V. and fully subscribed by Melati Designated Activity Company, a special-purpose investment vehicle supported by committed bank facilities. The instruments are callable at any time by ofi Treasury B.V., while Olam Group and subsidiary Olam International Limited have granted Melati option rights to sell the instruments back to them should specified put events occur.

Proceeds will be used to refinance existing debt and for general corporate purposes, and the company said the transaction is not expected to have a material effect on the leverage of either ofi or Olam Group.

Société Générale, Emirates NBD Capital Limited, Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Singapore Branch) acted as mandated lead arrangers, with Société Générale, London Branch, serving as facility agent.

Rishi Kalra, Executive Director and Group CFO of ofi, said the deal broadens the company’s long-term funding channels and strengthens its capital structure as it pursues growth objectives.
