Design Capital's Interim Loss Narrows Sharply to About S$0.3 Million, Furniture Sales Segment Revenue Climbs 50.8%

On September 16, Design Capital (01545.HK) released its unaudited interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026. During the period, the group's revenue reached approximately S$23.9 million, reflecting an increase of about 2.8% compared with the S$23.2 million recorded in the same period last year, while the gross profit margin improved from approximately 31.6% to 33.4%.

The group's loss narrowed significantly to roughly S$0.3 million from approximately S$2.3 million in the corresponding period a year earlier, primarily due to higher revenue, better cost management, and reduced foreign exchange losses. During the period, the loss attributable to shareholders of the company stood at S$495,000, with basic and diluted loss per share of 0.02 Singapore cent.

On a segmental basis, revenue from the Singapore furniture sales segment surged 50.8% to about S$8.6 million from approximately S$5.7 million, driven mainly by the delivery of high-end residential furniture and the completion of projects. In contrast, revenue from the U.S. furniture sales segment declined to roughly S$13.0 million from S$15.1 million, while the interior design segment's revenue fell 7.2% to about S$2.2 million from S$2.4 million.

As of June 30, 2026, the group held total cash and bank balances of approximately S$40.7 million, with total borrowings of around S$6,000 and a gearing ratio of roughly 0.01%. The board has resolved not to declare any interim dividend for the period. The unaudited financial information in this report has not been reviewed or audited by the auditor, although the audit committee has reviewed the report.
