On September 29, China FAW Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China FAW") and Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "GAC Industrial") officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.
According to reports, this move is not only a positive response to the national call for high-quality development of the automotive industry, but also a strategic partnership between the two enterprises based on market development trends and their own development needs, marking a new stage of strategic synergy in their cooperation.
Yesterday, GAC GROUP (02238) released the "Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. Plan for Issuing Shares to Purchase Assets and Raise Matching Funds and Related Party Transactions," formally disclosing important progress in the strategic cooperation with FAW Share. The announcement mentioned that GAC GROUP plans to purchase a 50% equity stake in FAW Toyota held by FAW Share through the issuance of shares, and to raise matching funds through share issuance.
This marks substantial progress in the strategic cooperation between central and local leading automakers that has attracted much market attention, injecting strong momentum into building a new pattern of central-local coordination in the automotive industry and creating a new paradigm for high-quality development.
Currently, China's automotive industry is at a critical stage of transitioning from large to strong and undergoing deep structural adjustments. As leading enterprises in China's automotive industry and core drivers of innovative development, China FAW and GAC Industrial each have advantages in brand building, vehicle manufacturing, market layout, international operations, and independent innovation of key technologies, complementing each other.
The two parties will rely on asset and capital linkage, with technological innovation as the driving force, to gradually deepen and expand the boundaries of cooperation, promote efficient cross-regional coordination of industrial resources, work together to achieve operational quality and efficiency improvements, and jointly promote the development and upgrading of China's automotive industry.
In the future, the two parties will adhere to the principles of "market orientation, legal compliance, equality and mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation," maintain strategic focus, strengthen institutional safeguards, steadily advance various cooperations, and work together to build an innovative paradigm of strategic synergy between central enterprises and local state-owned enterprises, accumulating strong momentum for the high-quality development of China's automotive industry.
