US 20-City Home Price Index Climbs 2.47% Year-over-Year in July, Topping 2.2% Forecast

S&P Cotality Case-Shiller data shows that US home prices rose 2.47% year-over-year in July, compared with a median market estimate of a 2.2% gain.

The forecasts of 13 economists ranged from an increase of 2% to 2.4%.

The previous reading was revised to a 2.15% year-over-year gain from 2.1%.

The seasonally adjusted 20-city home price index rose 0.32% month-over-month in July, versus a prior gain of 0.26%.

The national home price index rose 1.93% year-over-year, compared with a previous gain of 1.61%.
