Prudential cancels 708k shares, buys back another 613k on Sep, 16 2026

Prudential plc reported that it cancelled 708,277 ordinary shares on Sep, 16 2026, reducing its outstanding share capital to 2,488,616,018 shares.

The cancelled shares had been repurchased on Sep, 14 2026 at a volume-weighted average price of GBP 9.7684 per share.

On the same day, the insurer bought back a further 612,892 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between GBP 9.776 and GBP 9.878, spending the equivalent of about 10.3 million Singapore dollars. These shares are earmarked for cancellation, taking the total number of repurchased shares awaiting cancellation to 1,360,850.

The 600-plus-thousand shares repurchased on Sep, 16 2026 comprised 400,231 shares under the buy-back authority granted at the 2025 AGM and 212,661 shares under the renewed mandate approved at the 2026 AGM. To date, Prudential has repurchased 121,669,853 shares (4.67 % of issued capital at the time of approval) under the 2025 mandate and 3,248,208 shares (0.13 %) under the 2026 mandate.

Under Hong Kong listing rules, the company is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or selling treasury shares until Oct, 16 2026.
