The China Construction Machinery Association released the August 2026 aerial work platform rental prosperity index on September 28.

In August 2026, the aerial work platform rental rate index stood at 664 points, edging up 1.8% month-on-month while declining 5.8% year-on-year.

Overall, most equipment types saw their month-on-month rental rate indices remain flat or rise in August. Among them, the 30–35m equipment type posted the largest gain at 6.9%, while the above-40m equipment type recorded the largest month-on-month decline in rental rate index at 2.3%.

In August 2026, all equipment types except the 36–39m type saw their rental rate indices decline year-on-year, with the above-40m type experiencing the steepest drop at 16.1%, while the 36–39m type posted a slight year-on-year increase of 3.2%.

Regarding the rental price index for the aerial work platform rental industry in August 2026, calculated based on reported data, the aerial work platform rental price index edged up 0.3% month-on-month. Overall, the rental price indices of various equipment types were either slightly up or slightly down on a month-on-month basis in August, with the magnitude of changes remaining very small.

The 14–16m equipment type saw the largest decline at 2.5%, while the 30–35m type recorded the largest increase at 3.9%, with other equipment types fluctuating around 1.0% on a month-on-month basis.

In August 2026, the aerial work platform rental price index fell 8.7% year-on-year. Apart from the ≤6m equipment type, all other equipment types saw their rental price indices decline year-on-year. Among them, the 14–16m type posted the largest year-on-year decline at 12.6%, while the ≤6m type recorded the smallest year-on-year decline at 0.7%.
