Prudential plc reported in a Next Day Disclosure Return that it bought back a total of 896,572 ordinary shares on Sep, 18 2026. The purchases were executed on the London Stock Exchange, with 406,759 shares acquired under the authority granted at the company’s May, 14 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) and 489,813 shares under the renewed mandate approved at the May, 28 2026 AGM.
The 406,759 shares were repurchased at prices ranging from GBP 9.65 to GBP 9.872 per share for an aggregate consideration of GBP 3.96 million, while the 489,813 shares were bought within the same price range for a total of GBP 4.76 million. All repurchased shares are intended for cancellation.
Following cancellations of 612,892 shares (acquired on Sep, 16 2026 and cancelled on Sep, 18 2026), the company’s issued share capital fell to 2,487,255,168 ordinary shares as of Sep, 18 2026. An additional 1,480,164 shares repurchased on Sep, 17–18 2026 remain to be cancelled.
Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262.67 million shares under the 2025 mandate and 252.81 million shares under the 2026 mandate. To date, it has bought back 122.47 million and 3.93 million shares, respectively, under these approvals. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or treasury-share sales applies until Oct, 18 2026.
