The National Stock Exchange of India plans to double its colocation server capacity amid growing high-frequency and algorithmic trading volumes, according to an interview with NSE Managing Director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan cited by media reports.

The exchange intends to increase its rack capacity to more than 4,500 racks within the next two to three years, up from approximately 2,200 racks currently in use.

The exchange has already cleared space within its existing headquarters to support the expansion of data center infrastructure.

It has also secured land adjacent to its current building from the Maharashtra state government.
