Currently, the county's 400,000 mu of corn is gradually entering its mature harvest period. Bagon Town is seizing the favorable clear weather, fully leveraging the advantages of new agricultural machinery to accelerate corn harvesting operations. In the corn fields of Dongbanqiao Village, Bagon Town, contiguous corn plants display plump grains and promising growth. Multiple integrated corn combine harvesters are shuttling back and forth between the ridges. As the machines pass, they complete the entire process of corn cutting and grain storage in a single operation, while the remaining straw in the fields is instantaneously chopped and centrally collected, truly achieving the simultaneous integration of grain harvesting and straw recovery, which has significantly boosted autumn harvest efficiency.
Li Lingling, office director of Bagon Onion Industry Development Co., Ltd., said: "This year, we planted over 1,300 mu of corn and introduced four new integrated corn combine harvesters. The harvesting efficiency is very high, with stalk-to-grain separation and grain storage completed in one step. It should take about four to five days to finish." The promotion and application of the new integrated corn combine harvesters has not only injected "accelerated speed" into the autumn harvest but also turned corn straw from waste into a valuable resource, achieving dual income growth through bumper grain yields and straw utilization.
Since the start of this year, the county has continuously increased subsidy support for the purchase of specialty agricultural machinery, organized on-site training sessions on harvest loss reduction by region, and facilitated the smooth and orderly progress of autumn harvest operations. The county has scientifically coordinated agricultural machinery resources, adopting a human-machine collaborative model that uses "mechanical emergency harvesting for contiguous plots and manual supplementary harvesting for scattered small plots" to advance the autumn harvest work in an orderly manner and ensure the abundant harvest of autumn grains is fully secured and stored.
Li Lingling further noted: "The advantage of the stalk-and-ear dual harvester is its speed and minimal loss, with straw directly recycled for reuse. This not only saves labor costs but also boosts economic returns." At present, the county's autumn grain harvest is proceeding in an orderly fashion. Completed work includes 42,000 mu of corn, 20,000 mu of millet, 2,000 mu of sweet potatoes, and 4,000 mu of soybeans. The total autumn yield of vegetables and fruits has reached 53,000 tons. The widespread adoption of new agricultural machinery is making this autumn harvest season greener and more efficient.
