Nomura Holdings chief executive Kentaro Okuda said on Wednesday that he is closely monitoring the risk that a weaker yen could drive interest rates higher.
Speaking at a securities firms meeting in Tokyo, Okuda said expectations for further rate hikes by the Bank of Japan remain strong, and the market has already priced in a "slightly higher" rate outlook.
Okuda said that as long as the Bank of Japan maintains clear communication with the market, rate hikes are unlikely to have a major impact on Japanese stocks.
