During the National Day holiday, the construction boom for key transportation projects in Luoyang City showed no signs of slowing down. Numerous construction workers stayed at the frontline, seizing the golden autumn construction window to push forward project progress, contributing to the high-quality development of regional transportation with hard work and dedication.
As a key trunk transportation project in Luoyang's 14th Five-Year Plan, good news has arrived from the G208 Erxi Line Mengjin Section Reconstruction Project. The T-structure No. 0 block of the highway north approach bridge of the Luoyang Yellow River Highway-Railway Bridge, a key controlling engineering component of the project, has been successfully poured, marking that the north approach bridge has officially entered a new stage of superstructure construction, laying a solid foundation for the full-line completion of the project.
It is reported that the G208 Erxi Line Luoyang Mengjin Section Reconstruction Project is invested by China Railway Shangtou and constructed by China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group. The total route length is 20.99 kilometers, starting at the junction of Mengjin District on the G208 Erxi Line and Jiaozuo City, and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2029. After the project is put into use, it will further improve the trunk highway network system in northern Luoyang, open up cross-Yellow River transportation channels, enhance interconnection levels in the northern region, and empower the construction of a comprehensive transportation hub in northwestern Henan.
The T-structure bridge section of the Yellow River Highway-Railway Bridge that was poured this time is adjacent to the Xixiayuan water diversion facilities, with limited construction space and complex operating conditions, and strict ecological and environmental protection standards in the Yellow River basin, imposing extremely high requirements on construction organization, quality control, and ecological protection. To ensure continuous progress of the project, all personnel stayed at their posts and worked in shifts during the National Day holiday, carrying out T-structure segment construction operations on a regular basis. The entire construction process implemented closed-loop refined management, strictly enforcing standards for raw material inspection upon entry, concrete mix ratio optimization, standardized pouring, and regular maintenance, strictly complying with relevant regulations on ecological protection of the Yellow River basin, and coordinating the three core tasks of construction safety, project quality, and ecological protection to ensure that the entire construction process is safe, high-quality, and environmentally compliant.
"The golden holiday is the prime time for tackling key challenges, and at this critical stage, we must concentrate our efforts to sprint forward," said Jia Zhen, Deputy Director of the Luoyang Municipal Engineering Department. The current period is the golden window for superstructure construction of the bridge and a critical stage for the project to sprint toward its annual construction goals. All construction workers voluntarily gave up their National Day holiday, rooted themselves at the construction frontline, efficiently advanced T-structure segment construction and on-site refined operations, and made every effort to accelerate project progress. Everyone expressed that staying at their posts to tackle construction challenges and help key transportation projects open to traffic and benefit the people as soon as possible makes this dedication and contribution particularly meaningful.
