Commerce Ministry Extends Trade Barrier Probe Deadlines on US Practices

The Ministry of Commerce announced on the 30th that it has issued two separate notices setting out decisions to extend the investigation periods of trade barrier probes into US practices and measures that disrupt global production and supply chains and those that obstruct green product trade.

According to the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Commerce's Rules on Foreign Trade Barrier Investigations, on March 27, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcements No. 17 and No. 18 of 2026, deciding to launch trade barrier investigations into US practices and measures that undermine global production and supply chains and into US practices and measures that hinder trade in green products.

Given the complexity of the cases, and in accordance with Article 32 of the Rules on Foreign Trade Barrier Investigations, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to extend the investigation periods of both cases until December 27, 2026.
