Gold Jewelry Prices Drop Back to Around 1,300 Yuan per Gram as Spot Gold Loses 4,280 Dollar Mark

On September 24, a comparison of quotes from multiple domestic gold jewelry brands showed that the price of pure gold jewelry in China was adjusted compared with the previous day.

Lao Feng Xiang quoted 1,300 yuan per gram, down 17 yuan from the previous day; Lao Miao Gold quoted 1,293 yuan per gram, down 17 yuan from the previous day; Chow Sang Sang quoted 1,297 yuan per gram, down 12 yuan from the previous day.

A month earlier, on August 25, Chow Sang Sang, Chow Tai Fook, and Lao Miao all exceeded 1,400 yuan per gram, quoting 1,408 yuan per gram, 1,410 yuan per gram, and 1,407 yuan per gram, respectively, hitting a nearly three-month high.

Prices have now fallen to around 1,300 yuan per gram, and the listed prices of branded pure gold jewelry have cumulatively dropped by more than 100 yuan per gram.

On September 24, spot gold lost the 4,280 dollar per ounce mark, falling 0.28% during the day.

Despite recent high-level fluctuations in gold prices and a short-term pullback, funds in domestic gold ETFs have continued to flow in.

Wind data showed that as of September 22, the total shares of 14 gold ETF products reached 31.573 billion shares, setting a record high and rising 22.6% from 25.743 billion shares at the beginning of the year.

Since the start of September, gold ETF shares have achieved net growth on every trading day, with a cumulative net increase of 1.190 billion shares in September, as funds continued to subscribe during gold price volatility.
