Recently, the cargo vessel "Ganghong 998," loaded with 3,000 tons of photovoltaic glass, set sail from Shuifu Port and headed down the Yangtze River directly to Rugao Port in Jiangsu.
This batch of goods was produced by Zhaotong Qibin Glass, transported via the G85 Yin-Kun Expressway to Shuifu Port for loading, and sent to the Yangtze River Delta region using a "road + water" multimodal transport method.
It is understood that this batch of photovoltaic glass departed from Zhaotong, traveled about 220 kilometers along the G85 Yin-Kun Expressway to reach Shuifu Port, and was then transferred to a 3,000-ton-class inland river cargo vessel. It headed east along the Yangtze River golden waterway, passing through ports such as Chongqing, Yichang, Wuhan, and Nanjing, covering a total distance of about 2,600 kilometers, with an estimated voyage of around 26 days.
Cao Guopu, manager of the Production and Business Department at Shuifu Port, introduced that photovoltaic glass is fragile and easily damaged, placing high demands on loading, unloading, and storage operations. For this reason, the port specially arranged dedicated lifting equipment and cushioning materials, and adopted gentle loading and unloading practices to ensure the goods arrive intact.
Shuifu Port is an important hub port for Yunnan's integration into the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In recent years, the port has continued to promote integrated development of the "port, park, and city," and has opened regular liner routes to major ports in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including Chongqing, Jingzhou, Wuhan, Yichang, Jiujiang, and Shanghai, providing a more economical and efficient logistics solution for western China's new energy products heading east.
As Yunnan's green aluminum, photovoltaic new materials, and other industries accelerate their layout, high-value-added cargo throughput from Shuifu Port to the Yangtze River Delta region is expected to continue growing. The logistics network of river-sea intermodal transport and direct trunk-branch connections will inject new momentum into industrial cooperation between eastern and western China.
