Hong Kong's private residential price index has rebounded.
Data from the Hong Kong Rating and Valuation Department shows that the private residential price index rose back to 320.5 in August, up 0.06% month-on-month and up 10.98% year-on-year.
The price index for small and medium-sized units (below 100 square meters) was flat month-on-month, while the price index for larger units (100 square meters or above) rose 0.42% month-on-month.
Among them, the price index for Class A properties (below 40 square meters) was flat month-on-month; Class B properties (40 to 69.9 square meters) were flat month-on-month; Class C properties (70 to 99.9 square meters) rose 0.16% month-on-month; Class D properties (100 to 159.9 square meters) rose 0.42% month-on-month; and Class E properties (160 square meters or above) rose 0.46% month-on-month.
On the rental index side, the private residential rental index rose to 210.3 in August, hitting a new high again, up 1.64% month-on-month and up 5.26% year-on-year.
In the first eight months of this year, the private residential price index rose 6.98%, while the rental index rose 4.89%.
