On September 21, the 2026 collective wedding ceremony, themed "Fate in Taiyuan Railway, Love for a Lifetime," was joyfully held in Taiyuan by China Railway Taiyuan Group Co., Ltd. Sixty couples dressed in traditional Chinese wedding attire stepped into a cherished moment of their lives during a celebration rich with the charm of Chinese culture and distinctive railway industry features.
In recent years, many young people have devoted themselves to the railway sector, with young employees now accounting for 36.1 percent of the group's workforce. The company regards these young talents as a vital force driving high-quality railway development, creating platforms and mechanisms for skill training and on-the-job experience, while also prioritizing dating and marriage services as a fundamental measure to stabilize the team and unite its members.
The group's Youth League Committee, addressing the diverse and scattered needs of young employees, has partnered with local enterprises and institutions to organize over a hundred youth networking events under the banner "Passionate Youth, Fate in Taiyuan Railway," reaching more than 6,000 participants and steadily expanding young people's social circles.
At the ceremony, the proceedings were solemn and elegant, steeped in ancient tradition. Grooms presented wild geese as betrothal gifts to welcome their brides, and the sixty couples, all in traditional Chinese wedding garments, completed a series of time-honored rituals: washing their hands in a basin, reciting poetry to remove the face veil, sharing a cup of nuptial wine, reading the marriage oath together, and performing the three bows of respect. Surrounded by the witness of family, friends, and colleagues, the couples exchanged vows of lifelong commitment and celebrated their union.
"I am deeply moved to be part of today's collective wedding. As young railway workers, we usually remain at our posts. This gathering has given us this exclusive romance beyond our daily work," said Zuo Chao, one of the newlyweds.
Following the ceremony, the sixty couples traveled to sites including Taiyuan South Railway Station, the Taiyuan EMU Depot, and the ancient town of Taiyuan to capture themed wedding photos, preserving this beautiful memory against the backdrop of the "land-based aircraft carrier" and the old city's timeless charm.
It is understood that the Taiyuan Railway Bureau has hosted this collective wedding for four consecutive years, continuously innovating its format by incorporating elements popular among young people such as music festivals, railway-themed cultural products, and traditional Chinese culture fairs. This ensures the event not only serves as a romantic stage witnessing railway youth love but also stands as a significant vehicle for passing down China's exceptional traditional culture and showcasing the achievements of corporate culture building.
