Micron's Quarterly Revenue Outlook Tops Wall Street Expectations as AI Buildout Drives Memory Chip Demand

Thanks to the AI infrastructure buildout pushing chip demand to unprecedented levels, Micron Technology, the largest memory chip maker in the United States, has issued a revenue outlook for the current quarter that exceeds market expectations.

The company said in a statement on Wednesday that revenue for the first fiscal quarter ending in November is expected to be approximately $61.5 billion. The average analyst estimate was $56.8 billion. Excluding certain items, earnings per share are projected to be about $38.15, above the $36.02 expected by analysts.

Following the earnings release, shares of Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) rose less than 1% in after-hours trading. So far this year, Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) has been the best-performing component of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange Semiconductor Index.
