All 60 Vase-Shaped Hollow Piers Completed on Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge

The final pier body of the central approach bridge of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge was recently capped, marking the completion of all 60 vase-shaped hollow piers on the central approach bridge.

According to reports, the bored pile, cap, and pier body construction for the project has been fully completed, and the next construction focus will be the segmental girder work on the central approach bridge.

At present, the left carriageway has been fully connected, while segmental girder erection is underway on the right carriageway, with two bridge erecting machines working in opposite directions on site.

The central approach bridge of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge has a total length of 2,032 meters, connecting the south tower of the north navigation channel bridge to the north tower of the south navigation channel bridge, with a total of 61 spans and separate left and right carriageways, serving as a "structural joint" linking south and north.

The full bridge is designed with 60 vase-shaped hollow piers, with pier heights ranging from 55.6 meters to 63.6 meters, poured with C45 concrete, and the top 11 meters of each pier transitions with circular arc curves, combining load-bearing and landscape functions.

As of now, the main tower and anchorage main works of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge have been completed in stages.
