Prudential cancels nearly 0.9 million shares, reports new buybacks

Prudential plc said it cancelled a total of 896,572 ordinary shares on Sep, 22 2026, reducing its outstanding share count to 2.486 billion.

The cancelled shares stem from repurchases made on Sep, 18 2026 at an average price of about GBP 9.73.

The insurer also disclosed that, on Sep, 22 2026, it bought back another 830,739 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 9.60 to GBP 9.82. Of these, 405,157 shares were repurchased under the mandate approved at the 2025 annual general meeting, while 425,582 were acquired under the renewed 2026 mandate.

After the latest transactions, 1.50 million repurchased shares remained to be cancelled. Prudential’s current authority allows for the repurchase of up to 252.8 million shares.
