SK hynix recently announced it will expand its support program for partners, including providing upfront funding of up to 50% of R&D expenses.
The program was unveiled at an event held on Monday, hosted by SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung, with executives and representatives from approximately 100 partner companies in attendance.
During the technology development phase, SK hynix will introduce a program that provides upfront funding of up to 50% of initial R&D costs.
Even if the project fails to ultimately produce a successful technology or result in actual procurement, SK hynix will settle accounts after the R&D concludes based on the partner company's technological achievements and contributions.
During the testing and validation phase, SK hynix will open up infrastructure including production lines to help partners verify the performance and reliability of their products.
During the mass production phase, SK hynix will provide low-interest financing support through its "Co-growth Fund" and expand its consulting services to second- and third-tier suppliers.
During the sales phase, the chip giant plans to double the size of its fund supporting supplier payment settlements, from the current 50 billion won (approximately $73.6 million) to 100 billion won.
