Forgot Your Child's Helmet? 60 Schools in Liandu Now Offer On-Site Sharing in Under 2 Minutes

Student commuting safety is a concern for every family, and wearing a riding helmet is the final defense for travel safety. Recently, the Liandu Brigade of the Lishui Public Security Traffic Management Detachment, together with the Liandu District Education Bureau, has placed 2,425 shared riding helmets across 60 urban schools, allowing parents and students who temporarily forget their helmets to easily borrow one on the spot.

Around 5:20 PM on September 20th, as the after-school care program at Liandu Primary School was winding down, a crowd of parents gathered at the school gate. Parent Ms. Zhang arrived on her electric scooter, having rushed out the door and forgotten to bring her child's helmet. Guided by the school security guard, she walked over to the shared helmet storage cabinet at the entrance. The light beige riding helmets were neatly arranged inside. By scanning a QR code and filling in some basic details, she was able to borrow one, completing the entire process in less than two minutes. "I'm always in such a rush when I leave the house, and it's easy to forget the helmet. This shared helmet service is truly convenient and gives us peace of mind. It's a measure worth praising!" Ms. Zhang remarked.

According to the Liandu District Education Bureau, all 2,425 helmets have now been deployed, covering every kindergarten, primary school, and middle school in the district. Shared helmet storage cabinets have been installed at 60 schools, including Liandu Primary School, Liuying Primary School, and Tianning Primary School. No deposit is required to borrow a helmet. However, it's worth noting that the borrowing procedures vary slightly from school to school, so parents are advised to consult the school security office for specific instructions.

Parents are also reminded to return the borrowed helmets promptly so they can be reused by others. More importantly, remember that wearing a helmet isn't about passing an inspection — it's about protecting the most critical part of your body at the moment it matters most. Statistics show that in fatal electric scooter accidents, traumatic brain injury is the leading cause of death. A properly fitted helmet is your "lifesaver" when it counts.

How to properly wear a helmet:

Adjust the size and keep it level on your head.

Tighten the straps.

Adjust the height.

Adjust the length.

A helmet worn means safety assured. Ride with civility, and travel with peace of mind.

Where to find it: The helmets are available at all 60 participating schools.

Practical tip: Always return borrowed helmets after use for the next person.

Basic steps to fit a helmet: Measure the head size, position it level, tighten the chin strap, and adjust for a snug fit.
