Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Mixed; One-Month Rate Inches Up to 2.87%

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates displayed a mixed performance on September 21st, with the one-month rate, which is closely tied to mortgage lending, posting a marginal increase.

The one-month Hibor rose by 0.036 basis points to reach 2.86923%, according to market data. In contrast, the three-month rate, often used as a gauge for bank funding costs, declined by 1.702 basis points to settle at 3.07679%.

Other short-term tenors also showed varied movements. The overnight rate fell by 2.655 basis points to 2.14833%, while the one-week rate dipped 0.512 basis points to 2.33726%. Meanwhile, the two-week rate climbed 2.304 basis points to 2.69304%, and the two-month rate advanced 1.351 basis points to 3.00000%.

For longer maturities, the six-month rate edged up 1.506 basis points to 3.43167%, and the one-year rate registered a slight increase of 0.142 basis points to 3.86327%.
