Iran's parliament is examining an urgent bill that would withdraw the country from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), according to Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad.

"Once the bill is formally submitted, it will be reviewed the same day," Nikzad said, without offering further details.

"The parliament will also examine its implications at the international level, including U.S. attempts to build an anti-Iran consensus internationally," Nikzad stated.
