Geo Energy Resources (RE4) said on Sep, 28 2026 that it expects a substantial increase in net profit for 3Q2026, supported by a 3.3-million-tonne jump in coal sales volumes, higher benchmark selling prices and lower logistics costs following the start-up of PT Marga Bara Jaya (MBJ)’s haul road and jetty.

The group sold almost as much coal in the third quarter as in 1H2026, when it moved 3.6 million tonnes. The Indonesian Coal Index 4,200 GAR price averaged about US$76 per tonne in Sep, 2026, versus US$58.13 per tonne in the first half. Leveraging MBJ’s infrastructure has cut operational cash costs by roughly US$11 per tonne, the company added.

Geo Energy expects further production and sales gains in 4Q2026 as subsidiary PT Triaryani scales up deliveries via MBJ using new double-trailer trucks, which are projected to enhance cost savings. Assuming benchmark coal prices remain near US$77 per tonne and output rises as planned, the miner anticipates a “substantially” higher full-year profit for FY2026.

Separately, Geo Energy is finalising a definitive agreement with Resource Invest AG (ResInvest) for a significant stake in MBJ at a valuation of about 2.1 billion Singapore dollars, to be executed through either direct or indirect share acquisition.

The board reaffirmed its dividend policy of distributing at least 30% of annual net profit and noted that it has repurchased 5.8 million shares under the share-buyback programme launched in Jul, 2026.
