On the evening of September 29, Hengan Group's WeChat official account published an obituary announcing that Sze Man Bok, Chairman of the Board of Hengan International Group Company Limited (HENGAN INT'L), passed away at 16:55 on September 29, 2026, at the age of 78 after medical treatment proved ineffective.

Sze Man Bok was a recipient of the 11th "China Charity Award" and also served as the Permanent Honorary President of the Jinjiang Charity Federation.

Sze Man Bok was born in Jinjiang, Fujian. In 1993, he joined hands with Hui Lin Chit to co-found Hengan Group, building it into a leading enterprise in China's household paper and maternal and infant hygiene products industry.

On December 8, 1998, Hengan International listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming a well-known consumer stock in the Hong Kong market. The company incubated national-level consumer brands such as Anerle, Mind Act Upon Mind, and Space 7, with products reaching millions of households and profoundly transforming the landscape of China's daily consumer goods market.

Beyond his deep commitment to industry, Sze Man Bok devoted himself to public welfare and charity over the long term, giving back to his hometown's development. In 2019, he donated 28 million yuan to the Jinjiang Charity Federation and 2 million yuan to the Fujian Provincial Public Security Police Martyrs Fund. He also donated 34.2 million yuan to Jinjiang Second Hospital, continuously supporting his hometown's medical infrastructure construction and livelihood causes.

With his outstanding charitable contributions, he earned the national-level charitable honor, the "China Charity Award."

The successive passing of Hengan's two founders is deeply sorrowful. On April 17, 2025, Hengan Group co-founder Hui Lin Chit passed away. More than a year later, Sze Man Bok also passed away unexpectedly.

On June 9 of this year, Hengan International had already issued an announcement disclosing that Chairman of the Board and Executive Director Sze Man Bok would suspend his duties as Director and Chairman of the Board due to personal health reasons, and the market had already been paying attention to his health condition at that time.

As a representative figure of Fujian entrepreneurs, Sze Man Bok partnered with Hui Lin Chit for decades, leading Hengan from a small local enterprise in Jinjiang to become a Hong Kong-listed consumer leader, witnessing the rise of China's daily consumer goods industry.
