EIA Data Shows U.S. Crude Stockpiles Rose by 922,000 Barrels Last Week, Defying Forecast of 710,000-Barrel Decline

The U.S. Energy Information Administration's inventory report also revealed the following changes last week:

Gasoline inventories fell by 1.684 million barrels, compared with an estimate of a 1 million-barrel decrease.

Distillate stockpiles dropped by 2.251 million barrels, against a projection of a 75,000-barrel increase.

Cushing crude inventories rose by 553,000 barrels.

Refinery utilization declined by 1.5 percentage points, versus an expected drop of 0.3 percentage points.

Refinery crude runs decreased by 554,000 barrels per day.

Crude imports fell by 179,000 barrels per day.

Crude production increased by 16,000 barrels per day.
