UBS AG Lifts Stake to 7.33% in Guotai Junan International Amid Privatisation Scheme

Hong Kong’s Takeovers Executive disclosed on 28 September 2026 that UBS AG increased its shareholding in Guotai Junan International Holdings Ltd (Guotai Junan International) through a series of on-market trades executed on 25 September 2026, as part of ongoing dealings related to the company’s proposed privatisation by scheme of arrangement under the Hong Kong Code on Takeovers and Mergers.

UBS AG bought 13,000 shares at HK$2.91 and a further 778,000 shares at HK$2.903, while selling 67,000 shares at prices ranging from HK$2.9064 to HK$2.91. The aggregate result was a net purchase of 724,000 shares.

Following these transactions, UBS AG’s total holding in Guotai Junan International rose to 698.90 million shares, representing 7.33% of the company’s issued share capital. UBS AG is classified as a Class (6) associate of the offeree by virtue of its shareholdings and confirmed that all trades were executed for its own account.

The disclosure forms part of the regulatory reporting requirements during the privatisation process, ensuring market transparency as stakeholders adjust positions ahead of the proposed scheme of arrangement.
