Indian equities tumbled to their lowest level in six months as rebounding oil prices and surging global bond yields weighed heavily on market sentiment, dragging the National Stock Exchange's Nifty 50 index down to its weakest point since April 2.

The 50-stock benchmark fell as much as 1.4%, breaking below the critical support level of 22,400. Reliance Industries, Infosys, and ICICI Bank were the biggest drags on the index.

Sudeep Shah, Vice President of Technical and Derivative Research at SBI Securities, noted that the 22,280–22,300 range represents a key support zone for the Nifty. "Once it breaks below 22,280, the index will test the 22,110–22,130 support range," he said.

Stock markets in neighboring countries including Indonesia, Australia, and Malaysia also suffered sharp declines.
