A reporter asked: Recently, Lai Ching-te claimed that next year a defense budget exceeding 1.3 trillion New Taiwan dollars will be allocated, invested in military procurement, international cooperation, and defense autonomy, especially strengthening industries such as drones and robotics. What is your comment on this?

Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhang Han stated that the Lai Ching-te authorities stubbornly adhere to the "Taiwan independence" separatist stance, vainly attempting to "seek independence through force" and "rely on foreign forces to seek independence," and are recklessly squandering the hard-earned money of the Taiwanese people.

The massive defense investment not only squeezes out livelihood and social welfare expenditures on the island, harms the vital interests of the Taiwanese people, but also pushes Taiwan step by step into a more dangerous situation, dragging the Taiwanese people into becoming cannon fodder for "Taiwan independence."

Such harmful and destructive acts that harm Taiwan and destroy Taiwan, and bring about self-destruction, will surely meet strong opposition.

No matter how much budget Lai Ching-te allocates or how many weapons are maneuvered, "Taiwan independence" cannot escape its inevitable defeat and demise.
